How to Merge PDF Files on iPhone
Option 1: Safari + PDFPocket
Open Merge PDF in Safari, tap the file picker, choose your PDFs from Files or iCloud Drive, drag them into order and tap Merge. The combined file is created on your phone and saved to Downloads – nothing is uploaded.
Option 2: Files app
In Files, tap Select, pick the PDFs, tap the ••• menu and choose Create PDF. Files merges them in the order selected. Rename the result with a long press.
Option 3: Shortcuts
Shortcuts has a “Make PDF” action that accepts several files; add it to the Share Sheet to merge from any app. Useful if you merge the same kind of files often.
Which to use?
Files is quickest for two or three documents already in Files. PDFPocket is better when you need to reorder pages, remove pages first (delete pages) or add page numbers afterwards.
FAQ
Is it safe to merge PDFs in the browser?
With PDFPocket, yes: the PDF is processed with JavaScript on your device and never sent to a server.
Is there a file size limit?
Only your device memory. Most iPhones handle a few hundred pages comfortably.
